Boom Leap Boom
Boom Leap Boom is the debut album composed and written by Solomon Alber and performed live in-studio. It was recorded over the course of a six year period and showcases not only Solomon's development as a saxophonist but also his evolution as a composer.
Certain songs mark two very different points in Solomon's life. The first track, Salmon Alaska marked Solomon's exploration with a new instrumentation featuring electric guitar, electric bass alongside the classic jazz instrumentation of saxophone, piano and drums. Solomon's approach with Second Wind was a little different because it embraces a collaborative spirit amongst the entire band. The bass line piggybacks on the drum groove which, inspires the guitar to play in a funky, rhythmic style. It also features synthesizers and diverse use of effects in the production and mix.
