BIO

Solomon Alber, a rising star saxophonist and arranger, has been around music his whole life. He fondly reminisces on how his first musical discoveries were made on road trips when his dad would play CDs by James Brown, Journey, Pink Floyd and Foreigner. It's no surprise that Solomon grew up surrounded by all kinds of music. Solomon has already toured the world internationally playing in festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Jazz à Vienne Festival in France and the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. His music has a sound often compared with the swinging jazz from the Romany tradition and also features elements of classical music and folk melodies from his unique heritage in Eastern Europe. Solomon has cultivated a unique sound on the tenor saxophone that has been known to shift from smooth, sultry ballads to energetic and lively swing tunes.

He currently leads The Boom Leapers, a collective of musicians. Solomon and his band, the Boom Leapers, have collaborated with esteemed musicians like Charu Suri, Alicyn Yaffee, Jemina and many more. He is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music where he was mentored and taught by some of the most esteemed professionals in the music today: Tia Fuller, Edmar Colon, Tiger Okoshi and George Garzone. Solomon Alber & the Boom Leapers are currently based in New York City where they records and perform in venues, music and arts festivals and other events around the New York City Metropolitan Area
